Dozens of life science companies in all stages of development have chosen to make their headquarters in DeKalb. In many cases, the county’s Office of Economic Development worked with the company to facilitate its location. We can do the same for you.

- Life Therapeutics is a biotechnology company that develops specialty biological and diagnostic products. As of fall 2007, Life Therapeutics had more than 100 employees.
- GeoVax is conducting human clinical trials on what is regarded as one of the world’s most promising vaccines for HIV / AIDS. Its common stock trades on the OTC Bulletin Board.
- RFS Pharma is conducting Phase 2 clinical trials on drug therapies to combat HIV and hepatitis B. RFS Pharma co-founder Dr. Raymond Schinazi worked with Dr. Dennis Liotta at Emory in the discovery of what is now the world’s leading AIDS drug therapy.
- Metastatix is a DeKalb-based pharmaceutical company co-founded by Dr. Dennis Liotta, who with Dr. Raymond Schinazi (above) in the discovery what is now the world’s leading AIDS drug therapy. Metastatix is set to begin Phase 1 clinical trials for a drug to stop the spread of metastatic cancer.
- Grace Labs, housed at DeKalb Medical Center, is developing tests kits that could help predict the likelihood of traumatic brain injuries or seizures.
- AerovectRx Corporation develops new and novel drug delivery systems for pulmonary disease. Its proprietary dosage-controlled solutions serve what is a $12 billion inhaled drug delivery market.
